Where the action was — Ten Thousand Villages!

1 Oct

We’d like to thank everyone who came out for the Benefit Event at Ten Thousand Villages on Saturday the 22nd! It was a fantastic evening with a great turnout. There were new faces and familiar faces and we all had a chance to shop for a very good cause.

A special shout-out to Alicia Greenwood at Ten Thousand Villages for putting this all together, and the amazing staff who helped out. Also, thank you to Mariam and Lizzie, both ETS Spring 2012 graduates who came to share their stories. Mariam, from Tanzania, brought her handmade Kanga bags, and Lizzie, from Ghana, came with her to-die-for gluten-free cupcakes.

One of the wonderful new connections we made was with Destiny Wiggins, who gave us a little shout-out on her Black For A Cause blog.  A few women from the Westminster Presbyterian Church were there, as well as small contingent of new fans through our stellar volunteer, Monique. We garnered a few new potential volunteers and mentors, had a couple of inquiries about our ETS program, and were delighted by handful of new partnerships.

A huge thank you to all who attended. It was a resounding success in so many ways and we could not have done it without you. Because of you, EWI is that much closer to empowering women reach their dreams of launching their own business.

Great energy throughout the evening!

With our many friends and supporters of EWI who came out to make it such a wonderfully grand time.
With all of you, the sky is the limit on what we can do to empower women entrepreneurs!
