Washington Center Intern Gets the Scoop on EWI

4 Jul

On Friday June 27th Natalie, a student from the Washington Center, visited EWI to learn more about our organization, mission, and vision for the future. Natalie is a student at The Washington Center and she is from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She currently attends California University of Pennsylvania and is doublmajoring in Business Management and Marketing. She is also minoring in Industrial Organizational Psychology.

While at The Washington Center Natalie is part of the Business and Global Trade Department and she is interning with The Empowerment Center this Summer. The Empowerment Center is a school for at risk youth in the Washington, DC area and they specialize in working with teens and young adults between the ages of 17-22 coping with learning disabilities or have been incarcerated. The Empowerment Center’s goal is to help youth earn their high school diplomas.

As a requirement for The Washington Center, Natalie is required to write one term paper about an organization of her choice and she chose EWI. Natalie’s roommate, Sallie, is EWI’s Entrepreneur Training for Success intern for the Summer and told Natalie about EWI. “I chose EWI mainly because my roommate, Sallie, loves her internship so much and always talks about the organization.  I decided that I wanted to learn more about it and see what she finds so spectacular.  Doing some research, I immediately found her love for the organization.  You are truly doing wonderful things for the women of DC and I hope that you can branch out and help more women everywhere.”

We had a fantastic time getting to know Natalie and talking to her about EWI! We’d like to thank Natalie for her interest in EWI and writing her term paper about us and we wish her luck in her Summer internship!”
