Interview with Eileen Kessler, EWI Board member

EWI Micro-Enterprise Intern, Sine Jeong, interviewed Eileen Kessler, one of EWI’s Board members and the owner of OmniStudio Inc. marketing firm.  Sine was interested in interviewing a professional in a field of marketing and branding, a field she would like to work in in the future.  Eileen shared her professional background with Sine and talked about her life and philosophy on business. During the interview they spoke about how to develop professional skills and conquer the challenge of achieving  professional goals.

Sine was especially inspired by Eileen’s words of advice for choosing her profession.  Eileen stated, “You need to understand what makes you happy. You are happy when your work is what you want. Don’t look at your work as only work, make your work a part of your life. Think over what you are interested in, what you want to do and then you can really find out your work for you. My business is part of my life. I love reading and writing and I learn from my clients everyday so I love my work.”

Eileen Kessler, who is president of Omnistudio, has led an expert team of specialists to produce publications, brand identities, marketing communications and informational materials that build constituencies, educate, and inspire advocacy for positive change in our society. Located inWashingtonDC, OmniStudio has been instrumental in the communications activities of local, national and international institutions. Omni shares the goals and passions of clients, especially in the areas of education, health care, the environment, and human rights. OmniStudio provides strategy, content, design, and development for online and print media such as Websites, newsletters, advertising, annual reports, and conference promotion.

Sine Jeong has been an EWI intern since 2012 spring. She came to DC from Korea through a program of the Washington Center, which provides internships, academic seminars, and internship placements in major professional fields in DC. She is interested in social media marketing and Public Relations and she has been learning by working on social media projects at EWI. She had a great time with interviewing Eileen on that day and she said that it was really inspiring to her.
